Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (June 13, 2018) – Juncos Racing’s Victor Franzoni completed a successful two-day test in the Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires this week at Road America.

After a tough break in the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last month, rookie Victor Franzoni returned to the track for the Mazda Road to Indy Open Test on the 14-Turn, 4.014-mile road course located at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The Brazilian completed 68 laps and would set the fastest time during three of the four sessions. Franzoni posted the fastest time overall with a time of 1:52.7325, and an average speed of 128.183 mph.

“The test went really well,” said Franzoni. “We led three of the four sessions and we had the fastest lap both days of the test. We were able to improve the car after Indy. The Grand Prix went well for us and we were fast but the Freedom 100 did not go as well. After the low tire we didn’t finish the race where we wanted to. Now, I am extremely excited looking on to the Road America race, especially after how well the test went, I know we can get our first win of the season. After such a strong test, we’re setting a big goal of sweeping the race weekend but I think we can get it done.”

Team Owner Ricardo Juncos said, “This week started out very well for our Indy Lights crew and Victor (Franzoni) at Road America. We were able to find a strong pace among the highly competitive field and pull off the quickest time overall. I am confident we will find success here next week when we return for the two race event. “

The 2018 Indy Lights Championship continues with Rounds 8 and 9 of the Kohler Grand Prix at Road America June 21 – 23rd.
