Daytona Beach, Florida (January 6th, 2019) –Juncos Racing finished off their official debut in the 2019 IMSA WeatherTeach SportsCar Championship this weekend with the ROAR Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Raceway.

A total of seven sessions were completed over three days on the 3.56-mile road course, along with qualifying for garage and pit positions on Sunday for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Juncos Racing line-up consisting of Rene Binder, Agustin Canapino, Kyle Kaiser and Will Owen turned in 176 laps by the end of the final test session.

Argentinean Canapino qualified eighth for garage and pit position in the No. 50 Juncos Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R car. Juncos Racing finished off the final day 11th overall.

Team Owner Ricardo Juncos said, “I am very happy with all we were able to accomplish over the past three days. Will, Kyle, Rene, and Agustin did a fantastic job. Each one progressed throughout each session and all four worked together extremely well. We completed each objective we set out to do in our first time on track with the entire team. It was our first chance at pit stops and driver changes. All of the hard work this team has done over the past two months really paid off as our times were very close to the leaders. Even though we had a slight bump in the road with a racing incident on Saturday, the crew did a great job getting the car back together so quickly that we lost no track time. I am very impressed overall how we worked as a team and what we were able to learn throughout the weekend. I would like to thank Cadillac for all of their support and for putting together a powerful race car. We are very proud to be a part of the Cadillac family and are looking forward to getting back here to Daytona in just a few short weeks.”

Agustin Canapino (Arrecifes, Buenos Aires, Argentina): “Today was a great day for the team and myself. We continue to gain momentum every time we go on track and have made a lot of progress in a short time. I am really enjoying every chance I get to turn in some laps in the Cadillac DPi-V.R. The power this car delivers is amazing. I cannot thank Juncos Racing enough for all of their hard work they do to give us a great race car. The capacity and level that Ricardo’s (Juncos) team operates at is incredible, so hats off to everyone at Juncos Racing. We will continue to work together the next few weeks and prepare for the Rolex 24.”

Will Owen (Castle Rock, Colorado): “The final day here at the Roar went quite successful with Juncos (Racing) and our Cadillac DPi-V.R. Agustin (Canapino) did a great job for us in qualifying and I am really impressed with his pace among the other drivers who have done this race for a couple of years. We learned a lot and gained some valuable knowledge that will really help us in the race. The crew made some great changes and really nailed the balance of the car during the final session today. Overall I am very happy with how we ended the weekend and I am excited to get back here for the race.”

Rene Binder (Innsbruck, Austria): “Our last day went very well. We got in a lot of laps and there was less traffic than the previous too day. We tried some new things and I had the chance to drive on used tires and got a better feel for the car. We made a lot of progress with our set ups and will continue to work at them as we get closer to the race.”

Kyle Kaiser (Santa Clara, California): “I am really happy with the last three days of testing here for the ROAR Before the 24. I can’t thank the team enough and Cadillac for all of the support they have given us to have a really successful test. All in all it went pretty smoothly. The Cadillac DPi-V.R performed very well and we made a lot of progress preparing for the race. I am very excited to get back here at the end of the month and to see if we can put a good race together and get a good result.”
