Lexington, Ohio (May 4, 2019) – The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship field is set for the ACURA Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio race tomorrow with Juncos Racing taking the ninth starting position. Will Owen qualified the No. 50 Juncos Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R car on the 2.258 mile, 13-Turn road course located at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Inconsistent weather conditions have played a factor during the fourth event weekend for the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. A mix of steady rain, sun, light rain and cool cloudy conditions have been present since the first practice session yesterday to qualifying this afternoon.
“Overall it has been an interesting couple of days here at Mid-Ohio as the weather conditions have changed so much,” said Owen. “Yesterday it rained in the morning so we decided not to go out until the second session, which was on a damp track. Today’s morning session we had a very low grip track. It then rained before qualifying, but was able to dry back up before we were on track. Our qualifying did not go as we hoped for as I pushed a little too much too early. The track was only getting better and better, but we peaked out before I was ready to lay down that perfect lap. It was still a good qualifying session with some lessons learned, and it’s a blast driving here at Mid-Ohio.”
Teammate Kyle Kaiser said, “We learned a lot today when Will (Owen) went out to qualify the #50 Juncos Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R car. We started the session a little more aggressive than we should have as we didn’t expect it to get up to temp as quick as it did so we came out of the box really hot. Will did a great job driving in qualifying getting the car up to P2, but the track kept getting better and better and dryer, but we had maximized everything at that point. It’s a tough situation that we didn’t get the qualifying we wanted to, but this is a really fun track to drive and we have a great race car. We are ready to get back on track tomorrow and look for a great result at the end of the race.”
