Madison, Illinois (August 22, 2022) – The Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires completed the final oval of the 2022 season this weekend with the VP Racing Fuels Oval Challenge of St. Louis at World Wide Technology Raceway. Reece Gold finished sixth, followed by teammate Enaam Ahmed in seventh for Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) in Round 15.

The two-day event kicked off Friday with two test sessions on the 1.25-mile oval located just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. Gold, driving the No. 55 The Ticket Clinic entry was the fastest for JHR finishing third overall out of the two test sessions.

The Indy Pro 2000 Championship had a busy day Saturday with practice, qualifying, and the race all in one day. The morning began with a quick 30-minute practice session. JHR struggled to find the pace with Gold finishing ninth, and Ahmed driving the No. 47 Clear Capital Markets entry in 12th.

The series returned to the track a few hours later for qualifying. Gold had a solid two-lap qualifying effort, putting the No. 55 on the front row starting in the second positions. Ahmed qualified seventh.

The day concluded that afternoon with the VP Racing Fuels Oval Challenge. Gold, who started second, unfortunately was not able to finish on the podium for the caution free 55-lap race, settling for sixth. Ahmed maintained his starting position to finish seventh.

After 15 rounds Reece Gold maintains second in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship, followed by Ahmed in fourth. JHR holds onto the lead for the team championship by 29 points with only three races remaining in the season finale at Portland International Raceway in two weeks.

Enaam Ahmed, No. 47 Clear Capital Markets: “Tough weekend for us, but we will keep fighting to comeback stronger in Portland to finish the year on a high.”

Reece Gold, No. 55 The Ticket Clinic: “Not the best of weekends at Gateway. Had a really good qualifying but just couldn’t get it right for the race. But I’m looking forward to finishing the season off at a road course where we have been strong all year. Thanks to everyone at Juncos Racing and to The Ticket Clinic for their support.”
